Mend Your Heart by Tracey Alvarez

Mend Your Heart (Bounty Bay, #4)Mend Your Heart by Tracey Alvarez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m a mad All Blacks fan, so there was no doubt I’d fall in love with Isaac Ngata. A broody hero to start with, he’s hiding more than the pain from his damaged leg. He’s carrying a secret that will change the world for Natalie, his best mate’s widow and also the woman he’s developed feelings for. Together they must mend each other’s hearts, and it’s all Isaac can hope for that Natalie will forgive him for keeping secrets when all he was trying to do was protect her from the truth that would shatter her heart. Another beautiful, heart-warming story from Ms Alvarez full of Kiwi humour, romance and men in rugby shorts.

An idiot’s guide to falling for your best friend’s widow…

Former rugby star Isaac Ngata was New Zealand’s golden boy until five years ago when a tragic accident took the life of his friend and team mate. Now he’s a pariah with a screwed up knee and a burden of guilt toward his friend’s wife and daughter. Best thing for him to do is sink into the anonymous safety of his hometown. An even better thing to do would be to stop picturing Natalie in his arms.

For someone who doesn’t know a dummy pass from a drop kick, Natalie Fisher just wants to keep her late husband’s passion for sport in the past. But their teenage daughter’s rugby team is in desperate need of a coach and the man she can’t stand to be around has volunteered. A long buried attraction flares to life between Natalie and Isaac, one they can’t run far or fast enough to avoid. Soon rugby fever isn’t the only thing heating up Bounty Bay. Crossing the line never had such high stakes…

The Stewart Island Series by Tracey Alvarez

In Too Deep (Stewart Island #1)In Too Deep by Tracey Alvarez
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am devouring this series by Tracey Alvarez. Usually with this many books in a series, I take breaks between them, but these are un-put-downable books. I find myself hungry for the next one before I’ve finished. I’ve fallen in love with the characters and the setting, and I can’t get enough. Ms Alvarez has a writing voice that draws me in. Funny, quirky, natural and feisty dialogue mixed with delightful romance. With each book the writing gets better, and I fall deeper and deeper, but my favourite to date is Playing for Fun. Ford Komeke … H.O.T.

Two hearts. A second chance. Everything on the line…

Ryan “West” Westlake belongs on the island. It’s in his blood and who he is. Nobody can deny that. When Piper Harland walked out of his life years ago, West let her go. He’d never stand in the way of a woman and her dreams. But now that she’s back, their past smacks him right in the face. With tempers flared and desires heightened, West just might realise what he lost so long ago.

Piper would do anything for her brother—even if means going back to Stewart Island—the one place she swore she’d never go again. As a member of the elite New Zealand Police Dive Team, Piper is forced to return to her hometown. When she confronts the demons of her past, old feelings of grief, pain, and a lost love come flooding back. Without drowning, can Piper wade through the pain of her past and find a future with the one who shattered her heart?
